Already buying an American professional but couldn’t choose between deluxe and the other. That mastodon riff cleared it up for me. Also, this is how I wish more guitar demos would be.

I bought one of these for a practice amp. Been gigging forever with a 65 Blackface re-issue Twin Reverb. About 3 years ago I took the Orange Crush to a gig and stuck a mic in front of it. I haven't used the Fender since then. It works brilliantly - I turn it up to about half (I only use the clean channel) and stick my pedal board in front of it (comp, overdrive, distortion, chorus delay, tremelo and booster) and it gets every sound I've ever needed to play 4 hrs of cover songs a night. I use in ears so I have no trouble hearing it onstage over the drums and running thru the PA it will work in any bar or hall we might play in. Light and reliable with excellent sound. Sometimes I think "maybe I should try a Blues Jnr or even a Deluxe Reverb but then I think "well - they're not REALLY gonna sound any better."..different maybe but better? That's all subjective - plus it's not as if the audience will know the difference. No. 1 feature for me is the sound, followed by the simplicity, followed by the reliabilty and robustness of solid state, and finally the WEIGHT.

Had both and a blackstar silverline and sold them all because I always preferred the sound of my old Marshall 50DFX. The Katana mk2 100 was my least Favourite, that went after a month. The crush 35 lasted a few months, the silverline lasted 6 months. The Marshall 50DFX has lasted over 12 years. Everyone eventually finds their own sound, mines has always been Marshall. I would advise anyone who is looking at buying an amp to take your guitar with you to a shop. Line up the amps you fancy and have a good play on all of them.

Thank you for the demo you are making me buy this amp. I only have one doubt, does that clean sound you have at 2:15 loud enough to be heard by a drummer and a 50 people gig?

Dark terror still has it even slipknot has used it it just a little affordable blade of metal destruction.

Some of these beautiful sounds are making me want to buy a Squier right now. I'm trying to hold on for 2 months to make sure I'm not doing it impulsively. And no, an acoustic guitar doesn't give me the same pleasure.

Very nice amp comparison. Both sound very good. Having owned both myself, I'd say the Mesa has the edge for three reasons: two fully independent channels, a more even sweep of the volume controls, and my Mesa was quieter than.the PRS. I'm not saying this is true of every PRS MT-15, only that it was true of the one I owned.

love hearing the tube emulators process both crunch and clean tones, thank you for that....if the Silverline features had the other 6 alt voices from the ID:Core BEAM, and had Architect cab emulators in a sweet-looking St. James 1x12 speaker box i would buy that yesterday.

Katana is best value for price. $230 for katana vs $500 plus for blackstar. No brainer

I’ve had PRS guitars and they are masterfully crafted in every way possible. It’s the only guitars that I ever took out of the box and did not need tuning at all. They played like a dream. But this level of perfection in guitar making was unfortunately flawed by their tonal output; yes they sounded good but having played Gibson’s for almost 20 years, I knew the sound was missing that ooomph that only Gibson guitars make. So after much consideration I sold them both after a couple of years. I love prs core line and their craftsmanship but as beautiful and so well engineered as they are they lack some soul as people put it.

tough comparison as this appears to be an s2 custom 24 prs which have pickups manufactured overseas but in all honesty they both sound good. I am very much a PRS guy but gibson wins this one.
